Orphanage Father´s House
We have been in touch with Father´s House since 2015 and were always admiring the work they do for street children and orphans in Kyiv. (The home is located in a south-east suburb of Kyiv.)
At the moment of Russian attack on Ukraine on February 24th 2022, our friends in Father's House were ready. They immediately evacuated all their children to Germany. Together with them, they managed to evacuate also children from the Orphanage in Kopyliv. Altogether 170 children and a small team of caretakers. Russian troops were able to get as close as 7 miles of Father´s House. Nevertheless, its property has not been destroyed.
Currently, Father's House provides shelter to Ukrainian families who had to leave everything behind and escape from their homes in Bachmut, eastern Ukraine.
Current needs:
- Support of every-day needs of refugees from Eastern Ukraine currently living in Father's House premisses.
- Completion of the reconstruction of a part of the home in Kyiv. That will enable us to accommodate more refugees from Eastern Ukraine.
